Can We Remain Loving When We Disagree?

This does not mean we will always agree. We should not expect another person to think exactly as we think, believe exactly as we believe, or see the world through our eyes. Each soul has traveled a different road. Each person has been shaped by different experiences, joys, wounds, and lessons.

Respect means allowing another person the dignity of being different.

You can disagree without becoming enemies. You can have opposing opinions without humiliating one another. You can say, “I see this differently,” without making the other person wrong, stupid, or unworthy of your love.

This is one of the great spiritual challenges of our time: Can we remain loving when we do not agree?

How we treat one another is part of our spiritual practice.
